Hi, I’m Tasha,
In 2021, I graduated from university with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. This followed my obsession with writing and learning the art of the written language, something I’ve been fascinated with since I was twelve years old.
I grew up in a family of readers, so it only made sense that the book-loving gene was passed down to me. I started with Pony Pals and The Saddle Club because I wanted to be just like Mum, who loved horses. Later, my brother introduced me to Deltora Quest and Eragon, sparking my love for fantasy. It wasn’t until my teen years that I found my personal niche in books like Twilight, The Hunger Games, and The Fault in Our Stars.
This time of my life coincided perfectly with my first job as a bookseller in a secondhand bookstore during my teens. When that time came to an unfortunate close, I was granted a second opportunity in an independant bookstore in my early twenties. To this day, this chapter of my life is one of my favourites, as I not only learned invaluable information about the book industry but also met some incredible people.
After five years, I moved on to a new industry where I spent almost five years building my knowledge in business; developing skills in client communication, organisation, and project management. Those skills now support the editorial side of my work just as much as my love of books does.
Being outside of the book industry for so long only left me wishing to return to the world I loved. I yearned to do something meaningful, but also keep the niggling part of my brain that loves problem-solving happy. By combining my love of reading, the English language, critical thinking, and helping others, I’ve found there’s something so incredibly perfect about helping authors shape their stories while preserving the voice that makes it uniquely theirs.
